Jessica Bowker

Director

Flexibility is as important to us as it is to you

TrueType Communications was founded in 2015 after identifying a gap in the Perth market for a more flexible communications and marketing solution for corporates, small businesses, start-ups, non-profits and social enterprises.

The Perth-based consultancy is led by Jessica Bowker, an experienced corporate communications specialist, who has worked for blue-chip companies and PR agencies in Australia and Canada.

Prior to founding TrueType, Jessica managed communications for major participants in the Australian oil and gas, mining and energy infrastructure sectors, as well as for joint ventures involving international resources companies. She also worked for Canada’s largest public relations agency with offices in Canada, the US and Europe.

Jessica currently advises clients in the property, resources, financial services, professional services, technology, education, legal and non-profit sectors.

Her areas of expertise include corporate communications strategy, brand management, marketing communications, change management and internal communications.

Jessica holds a Bachelor of Arts (Film and Television, Journalism) from Curtin University and is a professional member of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA).

In addition to her consulting work, Jessica is actively building her knowledge of the not-for-profit sector as a board member of Lupus WA, a voluntary NFP organisation which strives to improve awareness, education and support for lupus patients, the community and health professionals, and to support lupus research activities. She is also a volunteer mentor with the Beacon Foundation’s MyRoad Program which provides career guidance for young Australian women in high school.

Our approach

We strive to make the communications process straightforward and enjoyable for everyone.

Most of our assignments are through referral and repeat business, and we take pride in delivering high quality work and providing personal service.

We only take on a few projects at a time which means you will always have direct access to our experienced team.

What to expect

As we’ve worked both client-side and in consultancies, we have a very strong understanding of what clients need and expect from a communications consultant.

We know what it means to be a trusted advisor who understands a client’s business direction and can confidently deliver strategic communications that align with it.

Working flexibly means we simply get on with it and our clients benefit because we work transparently, efficiently and within their budgets.

We are happy to discuss our approach and hourly rates during an initial complimentary 20-minute phone call so clients can gauge how we work and if we’re the right fit for each other.

If we’re a good match, we’ll meet to discuss the scope of work before we prepare a detailed proposal mapping out work in phases and the associated costs.

This way our clients know exactly what’s involved and what to expect, and the effort we put into preparing proposals is worthwhile for everyone.
